Today's Job Search Status

Yes, the routine here is the same. I'm tired right now but I'm back on the computer for another glorious day of internet I thought I would be without a week ago.

You know, with all of this news about the pontiff's visit to the U.S. everywhere, as if it were the greatest thing ever, separates me from the rest of society in that I know it isn't that big a deal.

He's just a guy in a robe.

There are no miracles in anything and yet I have to acknowledge that I'm about as close to a miracle as I can get where I still have a internet connection to look for more writing gigs, or something that will pay me quick.

It's been an entire week of this so far, the same old thing. Last night, I stayed up to switch gears and started looking for theater auditions to local productions. I did my part in hitting up everyone of them and have already started getting some responses so I will need to get ready for those.

It still means me spending money to travel across town for at least five dollars a day and what I've already scheduled with regard to our radio show, I might end up dropping it if I need to. Again, money is the focus.

I'll talk about how even though money is the focus, why I'm not getting the fast food gig I was aiming for but as I write this, I get an email about a playwriting workshop I want to join where I asked them what the requirements were for me to be considered.

The response is that the requirements are pretty heavy and I only have one week to get on it. And on top of this, I have a fifty page story I need to finish editing before illustrating it to submit it to the client.

I still haven't received a callback from the places of employment I applied to about a week ago which tells me they aren't taking me very seriously as in I don't think I fit their requirements.

A few things that are looking up is that I did get a response from someone today via Fiverr to do some illustration work but again, money talks and no one is saying anything yet.

Oh woe is me! The guy in that painting reminds me of the dopes I've come across in the world of internet writing. In one case, a guy wrote a post that read like recovery garbage and I instigated an argument by trolling on the comment board. Yeah, that's my fault and I'll take the hit. His wife responded saying that he was a prestigious writer and highly reputable and I had not right to speak of him that way. Then he came at me with the same crap, because my comment said that I would have thought what he wrote was plagiarized but that I couldn't find evidence to prove it. But that's what pissed him off and when I tried to correct him, he came at me again saying that I was trying to discredit him as a writer. To which I said, in front of what audience? The Bubblews audience? He ended up deleting all of the comments so I can't recover those for this post. But I want to celebrate my one year anniversary of a post that touches upon the very subject of snotty-asshole-holier-than-thou writers out there, a post that's a little more mature with the point than my trolling reveals.
